Keep the Faith

The enemy you know - You have victory

By Christy Ogbeide, El-Shaddai Ministries, Houston, Tx

The outcome of the battle is fixed; it is a knock out defeat over the devil. Therefore, we cannot be defeated or stay down or else it will be our fault. Christ Jesus had declared us overcomers. God Almighty has given us armor and assurance in His word. Eph. 6:10-16 says that, “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.  Put on the whole armour of God that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girded about with truth, and having on breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” We need to use these weapons to defeat Satan and all His forces and they will flee from you in Jesus name.  God instructs us how to fight so we can be victorious and have a successful ending. Jeremiah 29:11, God’s thought towards us is of peace. One of the ways to have victory is to stand your ground in the battle. Know that you are a covenant child of God. Do not blame God from whom all blessings flow for all the difficulties and problems that come your way. Jesus encountered storm and He knew the source of the problem and He dealth with it. He maketh the storm calm, so that the waves thereof are still.” (Psalm 107:29)

Satan, who is at work to block and cause numerous confusions, brings negative thoughts, fear, anger, discouragement, causing many to lose this stage of the battle, instead of standing their grounds and rebuking Satan as Jesus did when he was tempted in Luke 4:5-8. Many will lose hope and faith if answers are delayed. But it is not so for true believers. The very first day that Daniel prayed, his answer was sent. But the “Prince of Persia” caused the delay. That is the more reason we sincerely need to stand against the thoughts Satan sneaks into our prayer and mind. We must persistently wait for an answer, while engulfing ourselves in the Word and the Promises of the Almighty God. His words will not return to Him void. We must know that no one has the final say about us. Only God has the answer, because He is our creator; that is why He is call Jehovah. God Almighty to whom all power belongs (Psalm 62:11) has the final say. He is the owner of our soul and our eternal creator.

We must verbalize, pray and speak into our lives the word of God. We must believe in it and we will have victory if we do not doubt or fear.  The word of God is true and the power of God is in His word. If doubt comes into your mind, always remember to say, “I resist you devil in the name of Jesus,” and he will flee.

Recognize the source of your problems and opposition as the devil and be determined not to yield to his voice or thoughts. As long as we are on this earth there will be one trouble or the other, but “…having done all, stand” (Ephesians 6:10). Stand on the promises of God and you will walk in victory.  Find and locate scriptures that relate to the battles you are going through and use the word  of God like Jesus did to defeat your enemy, the devil, who was described in 2 Corinthians 4:4, “as the god of this world.” But he is not the God of your life or your creator.

Never use past mistakes and failures to determine your future. It will only get you depressed, sad, oppressed, confused, discouraged and even open doors for the devil to cause more harm. Instead, by the power of God and the name of Jesus, walk in victory and take authority over the devil and all its agents. Remember, we are God’s battle axe created to pull down and destroy the kingdom of darkness.

As you read this book, I pray that the word of God in Colossians 1:13, will manifest in your life as the good Lord delivers you from all powers of darkness in Jesus name. May God Almighty grant you victory in all aspects of your life and do a new thing for you today in Jesus Name.  Isaiah 14:3, “And God shall wipe away all tears from your eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
